Well, I have been thinking lately, about the recent anomalous solar activity going on, and it occurred to me, the last month has lead to a smack down of astronomical proportions.

Scientists have “known” for decades that the sun’s output cycles every 11 years, however this year, 2 years after reaching it’s apogee in 2001, it kicked out 3 or 4 solar flares, 2 of them big ass X class flares, one of them, the biggest flare in history (lucky for us pointed away from us).

As much as this seems liked it is a big fuck you to astronomers everywhere, it is not intended to be that, rather an affirmation that as much as we know about the universe, there is still volumes that we don’t.

Other than that, much is good here. I am getting my new digital camera ready for the big trip this weekend.

We are going down to visit Ian, and do some photography on the way down and up.

I am still delving into the deepest and darkest underbellies of ActionScript and cursing myself for not wearing a helmet all those time I took a boot to the head (alla frantics).
