What can I say, I dig history and am loaded on tons of Benzos and other drugs so eat me.

December 20th, approx 800,000 square miles was officially transfered from France to the Unitied States.

Jefferson (then president) had wanted to by a small portion of it from france, who had got it from spain, and bam, they just up and gave him the whole bit.

Apparently, none of the leaders had time to attend the ceremony. Funny enough, they all had time to make speaches about the ceremony..

Go figure.
